This is my favourite. Every person have a special character, renoir just with few points. They live and I can hear the sound of their voices chatting.

I love the classist issues revealed here. Renoir has the two boatmen disassociating from the group- everyone else is enjoying the luncheon. the boatment gaze off clearly not "fitting" in. Is this how renoir felt growing up poor?

brilliant

this painting is not just fabolus but truley realistic of a impressionist view. the paitning is full of contarsting colours and the fruit in the middle of the table pefectly matches all the colours in the apitning. teh background is reminissant of a monet style full of muted tones alowing the foregroud to stand out. it is a interestign captivating piece of artwork.....

This painting really captures your attention and I can imagine myself being there when I look at it. It really pops out at you and looks so realistic. You can look at it in many points of view and appeals to many different types of people. I have enjoyed writing about this piece of art and someday hope to study different pictures painted by Renoir.

Renoir was painting a represetation of various classes of society coming together at this luncheon. This was unheard of back then, and this painting reflects the possibilty and chance that mixing classes was not only a capabilty but maybe one of ease.

Sooooo Smaaaaart

im still at school and am writing about this painting in art for my essay. I think that Renoir has painted this picture as to get people to think of what he did during his life and to think of how many friends he had. I think that this piece of his work is just sooooooooo good and that i would love to follow up in his footsteps of becoming an artist!!!

Perhaps Renoir did this piece so others could view it and imagine themselves there. The setting is nothing out of the ordinary but it creates a euphoric vibe.

its a happy thing

i first saw the painting at school when we were working on it in art i find it very interesting to look at and think, if when renoir painted it he was trying to talk siletly to the world (say something what was happening in his life)

My daughter and I stumbled on this painting at the gallery in Washington DC. No photograph does it justice. It is so alive it almost jumps off the wall. I have a reproduction of it, but it is not as good as the original. When I want to put myself mentally in a different place, I imagine I am at the Luncheon of the Boating Party.
